24. Lumière d’automne
This antique French oil painting shows a pair of rustic stone farmhouses set beside a still stretch of water, with a large tree at the centre. A small wooden fence runs along the bank, and soft clouds drift over a hazy, wooded hillside. The palette is muted and earthy, with olive greens, warm ochres and cool teal in the water.
